Author

I’m a senior citizen who’s enjoying every moment of retirement. I read, write, garden in season, volunteer at Animatch, a dog rescue, and have learned how to make soap. Even though it has finally been confirmed that I possess little to no musical talent, I continue to practice the piano with help from Bill Hilton on YouTube.

Annabeth’s House

My Book

Annabeth’s House is the story of Gillian, a young girl who discovers that her new house comes with an invisible resident who considers the new family to be uninvited and unwanted guests. Gillian and her friend, Jessica, set out to make contact with this unknown entity, hoping to free it from its earthly chains and bring peace to Gillian’s home.

Story Behind My Book

Annabeth came to life around fifteen years ago in a creative writing course at Concordia. The assignment was to write a short story, but I don’t remember where I got the idea of writing a ghost story. Sometimes these things just pop into your head, and It’s usually a good idea to run with them.

At the end of the course, the professor, Ellen Greene, told me it was good and that I should keep working on it and make it longer.  I did this, and a couple of years later, Mark Abley, Writer in Residence in Pointe-Claire at the time, told me the same thing. Over the years, I worked on it sporadically, sending it out, getting rejected, then working on it again.

Fast forward to today. Annabeth and Gillian have found a home with The Three Little Sisters Publishing. And during the editing process, I worked on it again and made it even longer.
